Welcome to Buck Valley Lodge! We are so glad you are here.

Mom, did you know in the fall the leaves change colors, float to the ground, and crunch when you step on them?
— Ava Grace, age 5.

This was the voice of our daughter when she returned from a day at kindergarten. My husband and I exchanged a glance that communicated both joy and embarrassment. We currently live in the south where there are only two seasons: hot and hotter. We loved witnessing our sweet daughter’s discovery of the natural world but being born and bred northerners, this was a commonplace experience for us. It was in that moment that we decided to plan an escape to the North Georgia mountains and allow our kids to be immersed in all things fall. The cool mornings, the warmth of the afternoon sun on their backs while hiking, the colorful sights, the smell of dusty dirt trails, and the tastes of crisp apples that their own hands harvested high from atop the orchard trees. Oh, and the healing symphony of nature sounds.

Noah and Ava loved every bit of that trip and since then we’ve made it a priority to visit the mountains as much as possible.

My husband and I have had a goal for many years to own a modest cabin nestled in the mountains. A place where minds can rest, spirits can recharge, hearts can strengthen and dreams are cast. Our vision came true when we were afforded the opportunity to purchase Buck Valley Lodge in the spring of 2023.  Now we are able to make forever memories with our children alongside nature while sharing our little cabin in the woods with you.

Never Stop Exploring,
